2020 Ford F250 Tremor Specs
It’s Tremor time 2020 Ford F250 Tremor Adds Tremor offroad package, Ford is entering yet another truck niche with the Tremor, a factory off-road package for its 2020 Ford f250 Tremor F-Series Super Duty truck lineup. This is not a desert-racing Raptor performance companion, rather it is for the Ford F250 Tremor and F-350 heavy-duty truck owner who steers toward rocks and mud, maybe with a trailer full of ATVs in the back.
Ford will add a buff and brawny off-road version of its biggest 2020 Ford F250 Tremor and 350 Super Duty pickup later this year. The Tremor package will include a crew cab, lifted suspension and more when the 2020 Super Duty medium-duty pickups go on sale late this year. Super Duties constitute around a third of sales for the F-series pickups, which have been America’s best-selling vehicles for 42 years. Ford builds the Super Duties in Louisville, Kentucky. Tremor is a hardware bundle as opposed to another model. That means that Ford will offer it on a wide range of 2020 Ford f250 Tremor and 350s, potentially making it a big seller.
For anyone worried that the Ford F150 Raptor isn’t able enough rough terrain, the new 2020 Ford F250 Tremor with off-road upgrades paired with the new 7.3-liter V8 engine will gladly take your money. The Super Duty Tremor takes the new 2020 Ford F250 Tremor and F-350, gives them more ground clearance with a 2-inch front-end lift, bigger shocks, 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac tires, a special new rock-crawling drive mode, and Ford’s new Trail Control off-road cruise control technology. The mission here was to build an off-road truck that beats the Ram Power Wagon with better towing and payload ratings, though we don’t know what those are, yet.
2020 Ford F250 Tremor Specs Interior
Tremors will have slightly lower towing capacity than corresponding models without the package, probably because the added equipment adds weight to the truck, reducing the share of total vehicle- and cargo-hauling capacity available for trailers. Electronic features will include Trail Control, which electronically manages brakes and acceleration when off-roading so the driver can enjoy the scenery. It’s the first Super Duty application of the feature, which is available in the Ranger midsize and F-150 full size pickups.
Tremors can ford water up to 33 inches deep, which puts it just under the headlights. The package provides 10.8 inches of ground clearance with the huge tires and a 30mm lift in the front and 40mm lift in the rear and unique axle geometry to accommodate the factory lift. The front air dam was raised 5 inches to improve the approach which is now a 31.65-degree approach it has a 24.51 departure angle. The package wraps 35-inch Goodyear Wrangle Duratrac maximum-traction all-terrain tires, the largest Ford has ever put on a heavy-duty pickup, around 18-inch matte-finish black wheels.
The 2020 Ford F250 Tremor package offers an upgraded suspension and bigger shocks tuned by Ford. The rear stabilizer bar is tuned for a lower spring rate when the body is twisted like a pretzel over a rockbed. The truck has custom 1.7-inch piston twin-tube dampers tuned for soft damping at low speeds. There is a locking rear differential with electronic shift-on-the-fly and up front is a new Dana limited-slip front differential. When a tire loses traction, the brakes can send power to the wheel with traction. Off-road running boards have been raised and tuck up next to the body to keep them intact on the trail and there are holes to make it easier to hose them down. Running boards are retractable on the top-end Platinum trim level. The Tremor borrows the same skid plates used on FX4 models.
